Bridge building history
The Öresund Bridge: Norwegian masterpiece of modern engineering
The Öresund Bridge is one of Scandinavia's most important infrastructure projects and connects Denmark and Sweden through a combined cable-stayed bridge and a sunken road tunnel. With a total length of 15.9 kilometers and innovative engineering techniques according to European standards (EN 1991, EN 1993), it embodies the fusion of architecture, statics and transnational transport planning. The project demonstrates advanced methods in foundation, tensioning and corrosion protection management as well as the application of ISO quality management systems in large-scale construction projects.
